Finally!

Finally... I am on Windows Vista! haha :)

Please let me introduce the entirely new interface of the new Operating System:

[Desktop] What we see here is a new Desktop layout which is no much difference from the previous Operating Systems. By default, it uses a black theme, and gets a Windows logo which replaces the traditional Start Menu button. What's the main difference here is the Start Menu itself, as you can see they show the content of the folders within the same column instead of expanding to another sub-column, die-hard fans of the usual interface may feel it's inconvenience to explore around.

Sidebar is one of the attention-grabber in Windows Vista, which is listed on the right side of the desktop. Users can install more widget tools besides the built-in analog clock, slideshows and RSS feeds.

There are two big buttons at the bottom of the menu, which easily allow users to put the computer in a Sleep mode, or Lock the system to prevent unauthorized usage. Users who are new to this interface, may get confused with the Sleep button - Stare at it, look at it, magnify it ... it still look like a Power Off button, than a Sleep mode button.

[Windows Explorer] This is also another main difference from the previous versions. Users can easily access various levels of the folders, which are shown in a family-tree form. At the bottom of the explorer, the details of the file are listed out, and can be amended easily.

However, the usual convenience buttons like Cut, Copy and Paste, are not found on the menu bars, users have to go into the Organize menu to get the jobs done.

[Microsoft Office] The famous Microsoft Office suite is back here again, and this time providing an entirely new menu bar/button layout. For example, in Microsoft Office Word 2007, three color schemes are available: Blue, Silver and Black, which give you an entirely new feel towards the suite.

The buttons are grouped by its function, in order to expand the functionality to its greatest. However, it may not meet its goal, users have to get familiar with the new layout all over again, the buttons are seemed scattered around in various menu tabs.

Users will have a better control to zoom in and out of the document. With the slider and increase/decrease zoom buttons, users can simply obtain a clearer view of the document just by a mouse drag.

[Internet Explorer] Windows Vista comes with the latest Internet Explorer 7, which provides a totally new experience to internet surfing. Menu bars, as similar to Microsoft Office 2007 suite, are no longer available in this version, the usual functions can be found in the Page and Tools buttons.

Internet Explorer 7 enables user to view various webpages using tabs. Users could also zoom in/out from 50% to 400% using the Change Zoom Level control at the right bottom corner of the window.
